Important Considerations

Before removing fields, carefully review whether they are connected to:

  • Workflows
  • Automations
  • Reports
  • Integrations
  • Custom functions

Deleting fields that are actively used by system processes may cause existing functionality to stop working as intended.

After making changes:

  1. Save the layout.
  2. Refresh the CRM page.
  3. Verify that the changes appear as expected.

Layout Rules

Layout Rules allow you to dynamically display or hide sections and fields based on information entered elsewhere in the record.

This helps simplify the user experience and ensures users only see fields relevant to the record they are working on.

Accessing Layout Rules

  1. Navigate to Setup.
  2. Select Modules and Fields.
  3. Open the desired module.
  4. Click Layout Rules.

How Layout Rules Work

Layout Rules evaluate information entered into a field and then perform actions such as:

  • Showing sections.
  • Hiding sections.
  • Showing fields.
  • Hiding fields.

Adding Additional Criteria

Layout Rules can contain multiple conditions and filters.

For example, you can:

  • Evaluate more than one field.
  • Create multiple criteria groups.
  • Display different sections based on combinations of values.

This flexibility allows you to create highly customized data-entry experiences tailored to your business processes.
